This has been a labor of love here. We were given the go ahead to restore this lovely car to Jaguar Club of North America Gold Concours standards. Finished in 2019, it went on to win the National Concours E Type Title Championship.

It had two consecutive 100 point showings! Henry Platts is the proud owner of this car which had belonged to his late father. The car had been in storage for many years prior to the exhaustive nut and bolt restoration.

The entire story has been captured at Hemmings.com, From father to son to show-winner – the rebirth of a 1961 Jaguar E-type.

We did a bit of mechanical work and updating since the car’s restoration. The choke was made operable, door hinges were replaced, the latches aligned, some wiring replaced and lights returned to working order.

This very early Jaguar belongs to Vintage Sport Car Club member Fred Cady and his wife Milly. Fred has had a series of Jaguars, including an XK150 as well as his current XK140.

A long time Jaguar fan and aficionado, Fred’s car reflects a very original restoration. The car’s color is accurate and correct, and was only offered for a short time. The car was completely restored and represents the best of the early Jaguar breed.

Enzo Ferrari is said to have called it the most beautiful car ever made. A truly lovely car!
